Planning your visit to the Quebec Winter Carnival is easy requiring a few clicks of the mouse and a telephone call or two.
First of all decide what days work best for you. This year the Quebec Winter Carnival runs from January 30th until February 15th, 2009. The best activities usually happen over the weekends, but rooms may be harder to secure at these times too.
Book your accommodations. You can try my list of Quebec hotels here. Be sure to ask about mid winter specials and also check the hotel's website for online only specials. Ask if the hotel has a Carnival package or offers discounted events tickets.
- Go through the photos of this year's carnival to see what interests you and your family. While most events are free, some will require tickets.
You can also call: 1-886-4-CARNAVAL.
Plan your itinerary. Most children's events take place on the Plains of Abraham outside the walled city in Upper Town. Here you will also find the zipline, sugar shack and bistro along with other events and activities.
The snow sculptures, ice skating events and concerts are found at Place Loto Quebec, just outside the walls.
Purchase your carnival passes and/or special events tickets on site if they do not come with your hotel.
