Another grand "Chateau style Hotel", The Hotel Chateau Laurier sits just off Quebec's most fashionable street, the Grand Allee, overlooking the Plains of Abraham.
The area is filled with great bars and restaurants frequented by locals.
Not all rooms are created equal so if possible arrive early in the day to: A) check out the room and B) change if necessary. This can be difficult to do in high season. In this season, request a room with quiet air conditioning.

This four star hotel can be a real find if you get the right room on a price special.
In summer, avoid the smaller "economy " rooms overlooking the patio with its incessant music.
The best features of the hotel include the location with a five minute walk to Old Quebec and about the same to the fine art museum. The Chateau Laurier offers superior business services also. The executive rooms are a definite plus as are the rooms containing a jacuzzi.
The breakfast is not the best deal around. Better to visit the nearby cafes. The on site restaurant is a chicken chain which does not match the quality of the hotel. Again eating off site is recommended.
