For 33 years the Fédération des Agricotours du Québec has been promoting proprietors of restaurants, agri - tourism businesses and accommodations that provide genuine Quebec products and experiences.
Through eight certification programs, involving adherence to rigorous standards, establishments displaying these signs guarantee guests a high level of quality.
For a genuine Quebec experience, look for the following certification labels displayed on the yellow and blue oval signs : Gîte du Passant (Bed & Breakfast), Auberge du Passant (small Quebec inns), Table aux Saveurs du Terroir (native cuisine), Table Champêtres (country-style dining), Relais du Terroir (farm shop), Ferme Découverte (farm exploration), Maisons de Campagne et de Ville (city and country Homes).
The network of certified "Tables et Relais du Terroir"(native cuisine and farm shops) offer visitors a choice of over 130 restaurants and agri-tourism farms throughout Québec. These include restaurants featuring regional cuisine and native products from the best agri-tourism farms. Most are located outside Montreal and Quebec City.
Certified Gîtes et Auberges du Passant (bed & breakfasts and country inns) can be found in historic mills, Victorian homes, loyalist buildings or farmhouses.
Bed & Breakfast (B&B) or country inns are found in rural and urban areas and include a full Quebec breakfast of regional specialties such as native smoked salmon or pork pate.
