1. Quebec City Takes to the Streets to Celebrate Her Birthday
On July 3, 4 and 5, 2008:"Quebec City Takes to the Streets" will celebrate the city's founding with some of the largest international street art troupes. Highlights include pyrotechnics in the middle of the St Lawrence River and a "mysterious aquatic show".
On the same dates, Quebec singers, actors and acrobats present the light hearted version of Quebec City's Birthday party with a lively re-telling of Quebec's 400 year history. These events take place in front of Quebec City's parliament building.

Many of the most interesting and free events for Quebec city birthday celebrations take place outdoors in the Old Port area.
Be sure to check out the Ephemeral Gardens, The "Passengers" show, the concerts in front of the Espace 400 building and the special exhibits at the nearby Museum of Civilization.

From July 3 to 13, 2008: The Plains of Abraham is the scene of the 400th anniversary edition of the annual summer festival. Outdoor concerts by the likes of Lynda Lemay, Fergie, Yes and Linkin Park along with Celine Dion and other Quebec favorites add to the excitement. Get there early for a good spot as these concerts are always well attended.
5. Museum of Civilization on Display
Until November 2, 2008 From most points in Quebec City the Museum of Civilization will be visible thanks to an impressive light/installation display by a an artistic director of Cirque du Soleil fame. Check out this highly original blend of museum, architecture and the performing arts.
Until September 7, 2009 Celebrate leisure with fun, interactive questionnaires, a psychic and thought - provoking exhibits that are all part of the "Libre Temps" (free time) show. After all, that's why you're on vacation - right?
