Quebec bike routes are rated on a scale of 1 to 6 with 1 being the easiest and 6, the most difficult.

# 1 is described as an easy, flat route that presents little difficulty and would be suitable for all family members.

#2 signifies a relatively easy route that may include some gentle slopes.

#3 is a route of average difficulty with some rolling hills and a longer journey.

#4 is a relatively difficult route of rolling and hilly terrain, some steep slopes and fairly long distances.

#5 signifies a difficult route that requires a good deal of effort.

#6, the most difficult of all, demands constant effort, repeated climbs and advanced training.

The annual Grand Tour is rated a 4 while the Montreal Bike Fest is rated 2.The Laurnetian's, Le P'tit Train du Nord trail is rated 3.
