Did you know? Twice a year, thousands of snow geese gather in one spot along their migration route in the spring and the fall: at the Cap Tourmente National Wildlife Area. Located just 50 km (31 mi) outside of Quebec City, Cap Tourmente is a beautifully landscaped area bordering the St. Lawrence River that's very popular for picnicking, hiking, and bird watching. The geese stop here to feed and rest on their long journey, much to the enjoyment of local ornithologists, who can watch up to thirty thousand birds resting and flying around the area.
