Snow Tires Mandatory in Quebec as of December 15, 2008

Visiting the province of Quebec over the winter season? A new provincial law requires all vehicles on Quebec roads be equipped with snow tires from November 15th until April 15th every year starting today.

What does this mean for the visitor? If you're renting a car insist on one with snow tires to avoid being stopped by the police and talking your way out of a $300.00 fine.
